Job Description – Senior Flooring Installer / Field Technician

Greater Seattle Floors is seeking a Senior Flooring Installer / Field Technician to join our team. As a Senior Flooring Installer / Field Technician you will work closely with our Sales Managers, Field Manager, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and other members of the team. Successful candidates for this position will be able to participate in demolition of existing flooring, sometimes including removing/installing molding, trim, base shoe, treads, nosings, etc. A Senior Flooring Installer / Field Technician will be responsible for the installation of our various flooring products including, raw and pre-finished wood, stairs, baseboards, and transitions with a strong attention to detail and a focus on a quality end-result for our clients. This position requires a high degree of creativity and will focus primary on high end residential projects. An individual in this role is expected to operate with minimal supervision.

Greater Seattle Floors is a single source custom flooring contractor with a primary focus on residential hardwood flooring. Our product lineup also includes ceramic tile, natural stone, slab, carpet, marmoleum, vinyl, and laminate LVT. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties/projects may be assigned)

  • Regularly install products from our various lines
  • Repair and level sub-floors to company and manufacturer specifications
  • Operate tools including sanders and other finishing equipment safely and correctly
  • Mix stains and colors to specifications; perform stain tests in a productive manner
  • Apply sealer, stain, and finish coats to all surfaces per company and manufacturer specifications
  • Perform incidental duties such as filling scraping, vacuuming, tacking, buffing, lacing new flooring in to match existing, patching, chiseling, etc. as required for the job
  • Perform the various facets of our flooring installation techniques following best practices
  • Respond with urgency and flexibility to meet changing project schedules and deadlines
  • Attend Product Knowledge Seminars (PKs), and certification classes to understand proper installation, use, and maintenance of products and materials
  • Share information gathered in PKs with other field staff as needed to ensure quality
  • Leading job sites - training and oversight of apprentice workers
  • Complete job paperwork and timecards in a timely/accurate manner including tracking of material taken from the shop and used on-site
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite
  • Attend/Perform Safety Meetings – alert team leads or other management if a safety concern is observed on the job
  • Maintain Safe Work Practices including the use of PPE when necessary and following all safety rules/regulations
